WHAT SHOULD I EAT?

Hungry.
No clue what sounds good.

When the question is not “which restaurant?” but “what should I eat at all?”, leave the filter on Anything and let the first spin create a direction.

Do not decide the cuisine first

The easiest way to use PlateLuck for “what should I eat?” is to remove constraints. Set a realistic distance, leave the food vibe on Anything and spin. The result gives the group something concrete to react to.

Treat the first result as a suggestion, not a command

Randomness works because it reveals preferences. If the first result makes everyone suddenly say “not that, but tacos sound good,” you learned something. Switch to Mexican and spin again rather than opening a giant restaurant list.

Use distance to match your energy

A short radius fits tired weeknights and lunch breaks. A wider radius makes sense when you want an adventure, a date, or a reason to visit another part of town.

Avoid endless vetoes

A veto should solve a real problem, not restart the debate. If every result gets rejected, reduce the group’s rules: choose one cuisine, widen the radius, or agree that the next workable result wins.

The goal is a decision

PlateLuck is intentionally different from a restaurant directory. It is not trying to show every possibility. It is trying to convert “I don’t know” into one actionable place to eat.
