Weโll ask for your location only when you spin.

Search gives you options. PlateLuck gives you momentum.
The point is not to prove that one restaurant is objectively โbest.โ PlateLuck filters out obvious mismatches, scores the remaining fit, then uses controlled randomness so dinner still feels spontaneous.
Your browser remembers what you rejected and saved.
Recent picks and Saved Bites stay on your device. PlateLuck can avoid repeating the same result every spin without requiring an account or building a personal server-side profile.
Before you let luck pick dinner.
Is PlateLuck actually random?
Not completely in Smart Pick. It filters and scores nearby options first, then adds controlled randomness so the strongest matches are more likely without guaranteeing the same answer every time.
Does PlateLuck know restaurant prices?
Usually not. Open map data rarely includes reliable menu prices, so โcheapโ and โtreatโ preferences are soft heuristics based on restaurant type and cuisineโnot a promise about the final bill.
Does PlateLuck track my location?
PlateLuck gets your location once to load nearby eateries, then reuses that nearby pool for repeated spins. The current static version does not create an account or keep a server-side personal location history.
Where does restaurant data come from?
Nearby restaurant and map attributes come from OpenStreetMap contributors through public map services. Details can be incomplete or outdated, so verify hours and important details directly.
